Question: How do people gain mass (just learnt about gravity :D), is it just the mass of the food that you eat?

mass just means how much matter there is in an object. So how many gold particles in a block of gold. We use weight to measure mass, but weight is affected by gravity. So weight of a block of gold is a lot less on the moon than on earth, because the gravity on the moon is a lot less. But the difference in weight does not change the mass or the size of the object!

On earth, we humans gain mass when we eat more energy than we need (we store it as fat). I would love to know how much I would weigh on the moon!
