If you ever get a chance to do a Eurotrip, GO!!! I loved living in Europe, I’ve seen a million castles and old stuff, but only really appreciate it now that I’m here and there’s no castles around….
It’s a bit of a complicated story, but my Dutch parents came to Sydney in the 1970’s as backpackers. They were both 21 years old and wanted to work and travel around Australia for 3 years. But, they loved it here and stayed for 15 years! I was born here and my younger brother Roald as well.
But then my mum became homesick and we moved back to Holland when I was 3 or 4 years old. So I grew up in HOlland, but had the Aussie passport. I decided to come back to Sydney during my uni years, do to an exchange project and like my parents, loved the country and stayed!
So yes I miss my mum and dad, I see them once a year, but love living here.
But if you get a chance to go to Europe for holiday to uni exchange, GO!
