Question: You mentioned in your interview that you wanted to be a writer while you were still at school. What made you choose science over writing? I'm curious because I'm am interested in both science AND writing.

  1. I’m not really sure. I think it was because I came to the conclusion that I would always have the opportunity to write as a hobby, but if I wanted to be a scientist, I had to go to university. I’m glad I made that decision, because after doing science for a few years, I discovered I really like writing about science, which would be much harder if I’d decided to do creative writing or journalism at uni instead. I still write in my spare time, some fiction and random bits and pieces, and one day I might turn to writing full time when my science career is over.

What type of writing are you interested in?

  1. I have written a lot of short stories including dystopian, horror, thriller, romance and science fiction. I mostly enjoy writing dystopian thrillers and I am working on a longer “book”.
