Dear Germy; Yes and no. There are almost hundred different languages in Nepal. The official language is Nepali and at schools English is spoken. I am learning Nepali but very slow and I don’t have enough Nepali to communicate with children who can’t speak English.
As far as full sentence is concerned with those children who do not speak English, I have difficulties. However, I found out that communication is not done by spoken language only. Simple exchange of look of eyes, touch and hug can mean a lot. In that nonverbal sense, I don’t have any difficulties.
Nepal is one of those poorest country in the world, thus many Nepali children are poor but they have very pure eyes and hearts, eager to learn. I have great hope and expectation in Nepal children and in Nepal. I wish and pray someday Nepal stand out in the world like the Himalaya, the roof of the world.
