Dear Chineseswan; Every kitchen science practical done became so common and rutine, I have to think very hard of the uncommon one. I will take an example which is not done very often but simple one-; making two layers of juice using density difference.
Pour tomato juice to a glass cup first to reach half only. Slant the glass and pour pineapple juice very slowly and carefully along the side and place it upright. There are two layers of different colors, not mixed for a while. It is because the tomato juice is more dense than the pineapple juice. You can try many different juices to make something like rainbow.
