Question: Do bath salts make you crave human flesh??

  1. Bath Salts are generally made up mostly of a chemical called methylenedioxypyrovalerone, which is a type of psychoactive drug. This means it affects your brain. Common effects include paranoia, hallucinations, agitation, and even suicidal tendencies. Not much is actually known about bath salts specifically though, because they can vary a lot, and a lot of the time doctors only know if someone in their care has taken Bath Salts because they were told by the person or the person’s friends.

There have been a few reports that people taking the drug have attacked people, and eaten human flesh. Although Bath Salts have an effect on the brain, I would hesitate at saying that it specifically causes people to want to eat human flesh. Rather, I’d suggest that there might be an underlying psychological issue, that the drug happens to be bringing to the surface.

  3. I don’t know a lot about bath salts, and I think Vanessa covered it pretty well. There has been a lot said about bath salts in the media recently, but really not a lot is known about exactly how it affects people and like most drugs we need to remember that it will influence everyone differently (though I suspect “zombification” is highly unlikely!)
