I’m a Scientist is like school science lessons meet the X Factor! School students choose which scientist gets a prize of $1000 to communicate their work.
Scientists and students talk on this website. They both break down barriers, have fun and learn. But only the students get to vote.
This zone is the Disease Zone. It has scientists studying theĀ causes and processes ofĀ illness . Who gets the prize? YOU decide!
I don’t really have an idol. There’s a lot of people that I respect, both past and present, and many of them have characteristics that I try to learn from or emulate. Open-mindedness, kindness, a love of learning and laughter, the courage of one’s convictions; these are some of the things I strive for, among others. But I try to not to focus on wrapping that up in one person to idolise; instead, I do the best I can to make myself better, hopefully a little each day but we take our victories where we can. š

Same like Steven, I’m not crazy about one person in particular!
I have a few favorite people though!
I admire Beyonce for her singing and dancing. I love the writer Bill Bryson, because all his books crack me up laughing!
I admire my supervisor, because she is both a medical docter and a scientist, and has a family with 2 boys, and is head of the Australian Diabetes Society….sometimes I think she is from a different planet because she can get all her work done and does so many things at the same time!
I’m a huge fan of Usain Bolt! yes he’s a bit cocky sometimes, but the guy can run!
